9/11—We will always remember.
We won’t forget that day in September.
We won’t forget the tears which were shed.
We won’t forget the lives, which came to an end.
We won’t forget the lives that were saved—
By others, who’s own lives they willing gave.
We won’t forget the fall of the twin towers—
The explosion, the fires, debris flying in showers.
We won’t forget how we all stopped breathing;
seeing with our eyes, but just not believing.
We won’t forget how we rallied together;
For once not concerned for ourselves, but for others.
We won’t forget all the prayers that were said—
as it’s all we could do, but wait except.
We won’t forget those who never came home,
and I pray we won’t neglect those who still feel alone.
